Gotan Korean Support

Gotan Korean is in development and not yet available. Testing is currently running on TestFlight, and what follows may change.
Requirements
- Device
- iPhone
- Operating system
- iOS 18.0 or later
- Availability
- In development (testing on TestFlight)
Features
In the app
- Presentation order derived from correspondences with Sino-Japanese vocabulary
- Words that give a foothold, words whose meaning has drifted, and words with no Japanese counterpart, kept apart
- Mastery tracked separately for meaning recall, spelling and listening
- Review scheduling by spaced repetition
- Syncing between your devices over iCloud
Content packs (one-time in-app purchases)
- Audio pack
- Drama vocabulary pack
- Hangul proficiency test pack
The learning engine itself needs no purchase. Packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions; they apply to devices signed in to the same Apple Account and can be restored with “Restore Purchases”.
How your data is handled
The app collects no information that identifies you — no name, email address, telephone number or postal address — and there is no account to create.
No third-party advertising or analytics SDK is included, and no record of what you do is sent anywhere.
Your study record is stored on the device. With iCloud sync enabled it is stored in the iCloud of your own Apple Account. It is never sent to our servers.
Frequently asked questions
- When will it be available?
- There is no date yet. If you would like to take part in TestFlight testing, write to us through the contact form.
- Does my study record move to a new device?
- With iCloud sync enabled it carries over to any device signed in to the same Apple Account. Without it, the record stays on the one device.
- A pack I purchased isn't showing.
- Try “Restore Purchases” in the settings. You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase.
- How do I request a refund?
- Payment and refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Please request them at reportaproblem.apple.com.
